Facade Structural Engineering

Facade structural engineering is crucial to overall building safety and compliance, and a key focus of the Building Safety Act. We engineer from the ground up using industry-leading tools to properly assess load paths and support principles, either at early design stages or during construction. Our construction stage services, typically provided to specialist subcontractors or main contractors, benefit from our insight as facade consultants. We deliver tailored deliverables to ensure ease of approval and maintain programme targets. For existing assets, we can provide inspections and reverse engineering services to help validate installed components or unlock adaptive reuse in retrofit and refurbishment projects. This includes supporting Building Safety Cases.

Thermal Analysis

The journey to Net Zero is driving very high levels of performance in the external envelope. The key to achieving ambitious targets is in the efficient design of the building fabric, of which the losses from thermal bridging can be significant. New Part L also requires that PSI values actually be assessed. As facade engineers we understand details and materials, and as a result are best place to undertake this analysis and advise on adjustments to details to extract improvements. Ultimately providing the Client with a more energy efficient design with lower carbon footprint. Our services include; Full Part L/SAP PSI value calculations 2D & 3D Thermal (U-value) Analysis Surface and Interstitial Condensation Risk Assessment
